In our last blog, we spoke about some of the common misconceptions about Dermal Fillers. We believe that part of our dedication to customer service and experience involves making sure that you know the truth about our products and services. There are many more myths surrounding Dermal Fillers in Fort Collins and today we’re here to shine some light on a few more.

  1. Lip filler injections can result in a “trout pout.” Many people have been put off to Dermal Fillers due to celebrities over-treating their lips. If you attend an experienced practitioner like the ones we have here at Allura who understand that “less is more” then subtle lip enhancement procedures are possible.
  2. Cheek injections can result in a “pillow face.”  It is true that over correction with too much filler can result in an overly plumped out face. It is important to keep a sense of proportion and not to over do it. However when these treatments are carried out by a properly trained practitioner with an astute eye this should not be the case.
  3. Dermal filler injections are not reversible. Most fillers last from 3-months to a year, so yes, you can wait out results that are less than what you expected. However, it’s a lesser known fact that if you dislike the look of dermal fillers, most can be reversed using a reversing agent called hyaluronidase to break up the hyaluronic acid in dermal fillers — thus eliminating the unwanted result.
